Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
I have spent the last few days here with Steve. We have been learning tools to help make the transition back to Boise a little bit easier. Steve continues to make excellent progress. His mobility is improving. He played a song (Evangelina) and sang for me on the guitar yesterday. His voice is so much stronger and he was actually able to play chords now which he has been unable to do up until this point.
We are getting pretty good at transfers from his wheelchair to couch, bed, chair, and into vehicles. We went on an outing this morning to a coffee shop and had a chocolate croissant and a latte with his therapy team. It was nice for him to get out of the hospital. When we got back, his therapist took him down to the workout room and he rode the peloton for 10 minutes!! Such amazing progress!
I continue to be amazed by his strength and resilience on a daily basis. He told me he was going to continue to work hard so he does not disappoint all of the people who have helped him here at rehab and all the people visiting him and supporting him in this journey. He is really looking forward to being back in Boise next Friday where I know he will be surrounded by people who want to continue to love and support him.
Love to you all,
Mary Ann
